Part-time Worship Director
The Worship Director will be a Spirit-filled person dedicated to planning and orchestrating the musical aspects of Sunday and Advent and Lenten mid-week worship services, including hymn and contemporary Christian song selection; accompanying the Adult Choir; recruiting, rehearsing, and directing guest worship instrumentalists and vocalists. The Worship Director will demonstrate successful leadership, encouragement, and development of congregational singing. The Worship Director will lead by example of personal Christian faith and worship.

Responsibilities & Supporting Action
  Sunday Worship Services
- Select hymns from the Lutheran Service Book for the 8 am service and contemporary Christian songs for the 10:30 am service.
- Play the piano and/or organ and or other instruments for all Sunday worship services and Advent and Lenten midweek services.
- Provide leadership, encouragement, and development of congregational singing.
  Organizing, Scheduling, And Orchestrating InstrumentalistsÂ
- Recruit and develop volunteer instrumentalists.
- Provide copies of music via email and/or hard copy for musicians in advance of each worship service.
- Rehearse with instrumentalists as necessary, to ensure a quality worship experience.
  Organizing, Scheduling, Nurturing Vocalists
- Recruit and nurture the musical gifts of vocalists in the congregation.
- Accompany Adult Choir rehearsals.
  Seasonal Worship Music Planning
- Plan seasonal and festival worship in accordance with the liturgical calendar.
- Plan Lent and Advent mid-week services and the Holy Week experience.
  Funeral, Memorial, And Wedding Services
- Play the piano and/or organ for funerals, memorial, and wedding services as available.
  Job Skills and Requirements
- A solid grounding in the Lutheran understanding of worship and the Gospel.
- Understanding of the dynamics of liturgical worship and a willingness to include contemporary Christian music.
- Training in music performance and experience working in a church setting.
- A commitment to teamwork, and support of all church ministries.
  Reporting
- The Worship Director reports to the pastor.
  Hours and Compensation
- The Worship Director role is a part-time hourly position. The pay rate and any additional compensation will be negotiated with the candidate.
